"The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish" is a fairy tale in verse by Russian writer Alexander Pushkin. Pushkin wrote the piece in 1833 and it was first published in a magazine two years later.;It's the story of a fisherman who catches a golden fish, which promises to fulfill any wish of his in exchange for its freedom. The man and his wife subsequently get caught in a struggle based on greed and loss. The moral of the story makes for a great lesson.
