Descriptions
by Talma Alyagon-Roz and illustrated by Paul Kor.
Noam is described as the sweetest and most mischievous boy in the neighborhood. Every day, he experiences a minor mishap—he falls, gets scratched, bumps himself, or gets a minor cut, sometimes even bleeding a little. The book's narrative centers on his various little injuries and the subsequent care he receives. The book centers around the comfort and care provided by his mother. The recurring plot element is: "Luckily there's a mother—to bandage, to caress, and to give a kiss. Luckily there's a plaster—to stick on..." The story uses these everyday childhood occurrences to touch on themes of the body, minor hurts, and the security of a parent's love and comfort. The book is also notable for its illustrations by Paul Kor, which utilize paper cutouts (collages) to depict Noam's adventures and injuries.
